Did you know that every 3 minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer?
I didn’t, but after reading that startling statistic, I’ve decided to do something about it. I will take steps toward ending breast cancer by participating int he Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington, D.C., a weekend-long walk of up to 39.3 miles. It will take a lot of training and preparation, but I’m committed to doing whatever it takes. I am IN IT TO END IT!
I need your help to raise at least $18,000 in donations. You may already know someone whose life has been touched by breast cancer. If you don’t, chances are someday you will. Now is the time to take action. Your tax-deductible donation can help ensure that we can make those statistics decline and that those already suffering can get the care and treatment that everyone deserves.
To make a donation, you can go to avonwalk.org, and select the donation link. If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to “Avon Walk for Breast Cancer” and send it to me at P.O. Box 844, N. Wilkesboro, N.C. 28659.
Funds raised by Avon Walkers are awarded by the Avon Foundation for Women, with a focus on making sure women and men get the care and treatment they need regardless of their ability to pay and to ultimately find a cure for breast cancer. You can learn more about the Foundation at avonfoundation.org.
In the time it took you to read this letter, another woman has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Please donate now to support this crusade to save lives.
Thank you,
Heather Wagoner
